Description

What is Tretinoin?

Tretinoin is a topical medication belonging to a class of drugs known as retinoids. It is derived from Vitamin A and is used primarily to treat acne and other skin conditions. This medication works by affecting the growth of skin cells. It’s also used to mitigate the appearance of fine wrinkles and mottled skin discoloration and to make rough facial skin feel smoother. In the UK and many other countries, tretinoin is available in various strengths as a cream or gel (like Tretinoin 0.025% and 0.05%), and it’s typically applied at night.

How Does Tretinoin Work for the Skin?

Tretinoin, a prescription retinoid, is a commonly used treatment for various skin conditions. It works by speeding up the skin cell turnover process, which helps to unclog pores and prevent acne formation. Tretinoin also stimulates collagen production, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and improving skin texture. When applied to the skin, it binds to specific receptors, initiating a series of cellular events that result in the normalization of skin cell growth and maturation.

Additionally, tretinoin can lighten dark spots and hyperpigmentation by inhibiting the production of melanin. However, it is important to note that tretinoin can cause skin irritation, dryness, and increased sensitivity to sunlight. To minimize these side effects, it is best to start with a lower concentration and gradually increase it over time, while also using sunscreen regularly.

How is Tretinoin Different from Retinol?

Tretinoin, also referred to in the skincare world as a retina face cream, contrasts significantly from Retinol. As a skin cream tretinoin is utilized more often to counter persistent issues like acne. This topical tretinoin cream, unlike over-the-counter creams, needs a prescription to order due to its potency and potential side effects. Its use, however, has been proven effective in treating a variety of skin conditions. Without a prescription, you may order it online at the OKDERMO Skincare store.

It’s essential to report side effects to FDA, as tretinoin should be used responsibly. The tretinoin cream uses range from addressing acne to rejuvenating aged skin, thanks to its rich retinoid content. Bear in mind that topical and oral tretinoin vary in application and effects. In essence, tretinoin stands apart from Retinol as it offers more profound and targeted results, albeit with potential side effects.

Benefits of Using Tretinoin: Beyond Acne Treatment

Retin-A, or Tretinoin, a renowned retinoid and active ingredient in topical acne creams, demonstrates a myriad of benefits extending beyond just acne treatment. A key player in dermatological solutions, Retin-A cream holds value for its remarkable efficacy against age spots, fine lines, and wrinkles. Users of Retin-A 0.05 topical cream have observed noticeable changes after consistent use, supporting the cream’s role in improving overall skin texture and tone.

This Retin-A cream, available to buy online, is a potent emollient that encourages skin regeneration. In terms of price, Retin-A cream is a cost-effective solution compared to other retinol creams on the market. The cream’s strength lies in its tretinoin component, offering superior results. Users can anticipate visible improvements, given the cream’s concentration of retinoic acid 0.05 percent. While Retin-A cream and retinol may seem identical, they offer distinct benefits, with Retin-A cream having an edge due to its potent formulation.

Reviewing the Strengths: 0.025% vs. 0.05% vs. 0.1%

When it comes to reviewing strengths, it is important to consider the different concentrations available. In the case of 0.025%, 0.05%, and 0.1% strengths, each has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Starting with the 0.025% concentration, this is considered to be a low-strength option. It is often used for individuals who have sensitive skin or those who are new to using the product. The advantage of a lower concentration is that it is less likely to cause irritation or other adverse reactions. However, the downside is that it may take longer to see results compared to higher concentrations.

Moving on to the 0.05% concentration, this is considered to be a medium-strength option. It provides a balance between effectiveness and tolerability. It is commonly recommended for individuals who have normal skin and have used the product before. This concentration is more likely to deliver results in a shorter period of time compared to the 0.025% strength.

Finally, the 0.1% concentration is the highest strength available. It is typically recommended for individuals who have thicker or more resilient skin, as it can be more potent and may cause more irritation. While this concentration can deliver faster results, it also poses a higher risk of adverse reactions. Therefore, it is important to carefully consider the individual’s skin type and history before choosing the most appropriate concentration.

How to Apply Tretinoin the Right Way:

Preparation and Application:

  • Cleanse: Begin with a gentle cleanser to ensure your face is free from impurities.
  • Wait: Post-cleansing, wait for about 20-30 minutes to guarantee your skin is completely dry. Tretinoin on damp skin may lead to irritation.
  • Pea-sized Amount: Administer a small, pea-sized dollop of the tretinoin cream 0.1%. Spread this evenly across the face, avoiding the sensitive eye and mouth areas.
  • Consistency: Tretinoin cream benefits are most pronounced when used consistently. However, always adhere to the prescribed frequency.

Key Considerations:

  • Sun Sensitivity: Tretinoin may augment sun sensitivity. Incorporate a
broad-spectrum sunscreen into your morning routine to safeguard your skin.
  • Side Effects: Reactions to tretinoin include mild redness or peeling. If adverse effects escalate, consult your dermatologist promptly.
  • Products Interaction: Before layering other skincare products or makeup, wait for the tretinoin cream to fully absorb. This typically takes around 20 minutes.

Tretinoin Products to Consider: From Retin-A to Vitacid

One of the most recognized brand names in the skincare world, Retin-A® is synonymous with effective anti-aging and acne treatments. Retin-A is actually the brand name for the generic drug known as tretinoin, a derivative of vitamin A. Tretinoin works by stimulating the turnover of skin cells, helping to reduce fine lines, sun damage, and acne.

Apart from Retin-A, tretinoin is also marketed under a variety of other brand names. Some of these include Vitacid, Renova, Avita, Refissa, Atralin, Tretin-X, Rejuva-A, Stieva-A, Tretinoïne, Retacnyl, and more. It’s crucial to note that while the branding might differ, the active ingredient – tretinoin – remains consistent across these products.

To clarify, brand names and generic drugs often lead to confusion. In essence, a brand name like Retin-A is the commercial name given by a company, whereas tretinoin is the generic name of the drug itself.

Both the brand-name product and its generic version contain the same active ingredient and offer the same therapeutic benefits. The primary difference usually lies in the price point, with generics typically being more affordable than their brand-name counterparts. When choosing between them, it’s essential to remember that both offer similar effectiveness in treatment.

Where Can I Buy Retin-A Cream?

Available in varying strengths like tretinoin 0.1% and tretinoin 0.025%, functions as a potent remedy for wrinkles, age spots, and acne, harnessing retinoic acid’s transformative powers. Studies show that the correct dose, combined with consistent use, can lead to remarkable skin improvements. But, where does one find this elixir?

OKDERMO, a reputable e-commerce platform, specializes in health and beauty products, boasting an impressive collection of tretinoin creams and gels. If “Where can I buy retin a cream?” is your pressing query, you’ll find your answer with OKDERMO’s vast array, including the highly sought-after Tretiheal and formulations with tretinoin cream USP specifications. From Retin-a 0.1 to Retin-a 0.05, and even the milder Retin-a 0.025, there’s a tailored solution for every skin type.

It’s essential, however, to tread with caution. Tretinoin is a synthetic derivative and, as with all potent actives, may come with possible side effects. Hence, consulting with a dermatologist, understanding the ideal dose, and adhering to the prescribed regimen is imperative. Furthermore, wear protective clothing when exposed to the sun, as tretinoin increases skin sensitivity. In the quest for radiant skin, remember: the right product, combined with knowledge, yields the best results.

Possible Side Effects of Tretinoin

Tretinoin, a potent derivative of vitamin A, is often prescribed to treat various skin conditions, primarily acne. Despite its effectiveness, tretinoin may cause some serious side effects, which users should be aware of:

  • Users might experience skin irritation, where the area to which tretinoin is applied may become red and uncomfortable.
  • More serious side effects include stretch marks and peeling skin.
  • Users may report side effects like a burning sensation or discoloration to the FDA.

Therefore, consult your doctor before using tretinoin, especially at the highest dose, to ensure its suitability for your skin. Side effects not listed here may occur too. Stop using tretinoin and seek immediate medical attention if these symptoms persist.

  1. Angel Davis

Always been very happy ordering from okdermo. My little tube of of Retin-A lasts me several months.

  2. Joyce Bates

I heard alot of people trying this for acne & breaking out, so I was apprehensive. I don’t have acne anymore…I used to have perioral dermatitus (acne around the mouth) which I got anibiotics for and its now gone, but my problem is aging and damage to my skin for the sun because I used department store serums (Lancome Primordial Intense) outside, which gave me a precancerous mole and a red spot and faintlydark patch on my cheek. After just two nights of use my skin looks noticably better. It is not greasy, it feels more like putting hand sanitiser on your face, like theres alcohol in the gel, it drys quick and can make your skin dry so use like sunflower, rose hip, or a natural non pore clogging oil to clean and moisterise ur face.

  3. Garrett Valdez

Really works. For those starting out, Persevere!

  4. Jackie

When used correctly, tretinoin is a miracle beauty cure sent from the gods. With anti-aging benefits and powerful acne treatment properties, both tretinoin products I’ve used pack a one-two punch. I had success with Retin-A of Janssen brand.

  5. Jamie Rhodes

Retin-A isn’t for everyone. But it’s the gold standard in skincare for most. My mother is 50 and doesn’t even have LINES on her face. She has been using retinol and Retin-A for 20 years.

  6. Sidney Hernandez

If you use it inappropriately or without the proper combination of other skincare products, it will be terrible for your skin. However, with the right regimen it is a godsend. First of all, go very, very slowly when beginning to use it or your skin could have a bad reaction (irritation, peeling, severe dryness). Only use a tiny amount mixed with your moisturizer a couple times a week (at night). You can slowly up this amount as your skin gets used to it, but don’t exceed once a night. I highly recommend not using any other medicated acne products while you’re using this. Also, make sure you are using some serious moisturizer and maybe a serum. This stuff will clear up your skin and practically erase fine lines on your face. I would recommend using it from a fairly young age (20’s) so that you’re preventing wrinkles and acne scars. I plan to keep using this indefinitely.

  7. Jackie Moore

I’ve been using this product for 20 years and people always comment on how good my skin looks. My sister (who doesn’t use it) is always asking me why I don’t have any wrinkles. Of course, I don’t smoke and always use sunscren, rain or shine. But it’s also due in part to the use of this little miracle worker. I only use it at night, and every other day.

  8. Spencer

It works. My skin’s tone, texture and overall smoothness has improved a lot. Sun spots have faded and some are just gone.

  9. Wendell Tate

I’ve been using this product for the last 3 years and can’t say enough about it. I’ve never had a problem with acne, however I use it for age spots on my face and chest. I’m now 50 yrs old and since I’ve started using Tretinoin cream I have people guess my age at 36. I have no wrinkles on my face at all! I recommend this product to anyone that wants to fight aging!

  10. Sergio Figueroa

I started using Tretinoin Vitacid cream about 2 months ago, and it has slowly started to change the appearance and texture of my skin for the better.

  11. Marcus Schneider

Well this took quite a bit of trial & error to get comfortable with. If you can hold out in the first six weeks, then you will start seeing some progress. Watch your sun and wind exposure & also try to stay away from any harsh facial washes. This has really helped dark spots and fine lines along with acne. Sun screen is just vital with this. For me the side effects are worth the benefits.

  12. Timothy F

This product is worth a try I can assure you. I’m finally acne free after 5 horrific years.

  13. Timothy Bradley

I’ve been using tretinoin creams on and off for years in different strengths and brands mainly for acne, for the last few years I have been using Vitacid tretinoin cream in 0.1% strength so hence my review landing here. This is the only stuff that can clear my skin and help with pigmentation, downside is the flakies but I’ve learnt not to use this coming up to an event where I need to look good. I don’t use this every single night either now, since starting acne.org products I haven’t needed to, acne.org helped my skin a lot but to get my skin to be on its best behavior I had to incorporate a tretinoin cream again, also now as I’m getting older I also wanted to use it to try and keep wrinkles at bay. I use this about every 3 to 4 nights now applying to all of my face, or if my skin comes up with a few spots either during that time of the month or from being overworked/stressed I’ll use it consecutively for 2 or 3 nights, I still get the peeling but I don’t get so much redness or sensitivity as what I used to get when I used this every night. I use sunblock 30+ every day whether raining or sunny as well since its a must when using any tretinion creams, and I’m hoping the combination of tretinoin and sunscreen lets me age gracefully so fingers crossed.

  14. Angie

My hyperpigmentation has diminished, the deep forehead lines are no more and my nasolabial folds have lifted. My skin hydrates itself now and has become quite oily, as it was in my teens. I no longer use moisturiser, just a Vitamin C serum and a Hyaluronic Acid gel. I also do dermarolling which seems to heighten the effectiveness of the product. I always have a glow to my skin, although I’m almost 50, I have no lines or wrinkles.

  15. Kent Silva

Depending on your skin type/ regime, you may need to skip days so it doesn’t over dry.

  16. Clara Brown

I switch it up with Tazarotene (tazarotenic acid) to keep my skin guessing. I like the cream better in the winter (less drying) and the gel better in the summer (when my skin gets oily).

  17. Brent Reed

I have been on this stuff for two weeks and my skin has gotten which is to be expected but I was wondering if anyone recommends the 1% instead of the 0.05 % to speed things along if not how long should I wait to see real results with the 0.05%. it has made my skin overall smoother but it has also made my skin oily

  18. Santiago James

At first when I took Vitacid tretinoin I was very skeptical. I had been prescribed it many years but never seemed to use it regularly. It was only until my mid thirties which I am now that I decided to give it a good try. My skin was uneven, discolored and dull. I have been using tretinoin regularly for about two weeks and can already see a big difference. My skin has become very smooth. The discoloration has faded some and along with hydroquinone and cocoa butter I am achieving maximum results. I did experience some mild side effects of peeling but this is just the medication doing its job. I lightly exfoliate three times a week and everything is kosher.

  19. Carl Rios

I started out applying it every two days, and have now been using it nightly for about a month now. The only way I will apply it on my skin is by mixing in a pea-sized amount with my night moisturizer, which helps make the transition phase (when your skin isn’t used to it yet and starts peeling and become a little irritated) less awful.

  20. Dana Nash

I am 28 years old and love the product. It helps with breakout while combating wrinkles. I have been using for a little under a year and plan to use the product for the rest of my life. I visited dermatologist and he prerscribed it to me. Bought it OTC on okdermo store, but recommend everyone visit dermatologist to examine your skin. I rarely break out now, pores are smaller and skin is allover smoother. Very happy I started using this product!

  21. Beverly Lucas

Works wonders, if you know how to use it!

  22. Fred Collier

    REALLY WORKS!!! Delivery quite annoying

  23. Don Shelton

My doctor prescribed this tretinoin cream for me. I don’t use it on a regular basis like I should, but I can tell you that even though I don’t use it as often, my skin looks younger. I still have acne and I’m trying to get in the habit of using the cream more often, but my acne has diminished some. Overall, I like the product.

  24. Angelo

This Micro tretinoin is the best!

  25. Micheal Maxwell

My skin looks brighter, glowing and fresh and firm! So don’t throw away your little miracle workers yet for another product. Just add tretinoin to your regime. I use 0.1% because .05% really didn’t do anything to my skin.

  26. Ramon Manning

Prescription retinoids are a sound investment that works.

  27. Brandon Brock

I use Renova generic Revize (from okdermo) which is .02% tretinoin and have been thrilled with the results – lines and wrinkles noticeably reduced or eliminated. I had tried Vitacid 0.05% a few years ago, but had to stop using it because it made my skin dry and flaky and even when I used it only 2 to 3 times a week my skin could never tolerate it. I agree with reviewers who say prescription tretinoin is the best anti-aging product available (and dermatologists agree!). The prescription product is indeed quite expensive but worth every penny!

  28. Emanuel Sutton

It is effective on both aging and acne but I used it so long I think I built up a tolerance of sorts.

  29. Ashley Young

This is the best Micro gel 0.1% ever! The price you cannot ever find better! Thanx ok dermo!!!! You saved my pocket and skin!

  30. Jaime

I have used the magic cream for just about 2,5 md now! I a see a big change. The skin is much thighter, and the wrinkle near my mouth corner has faded. I have startes vit c serum in the morning, and that is mayby why it works so well. I still peel, but not every day.

  31. Chester Thomas

Highly, whole-heartedly recommended. If you think it costs too much, just think of all the dollars you spend on other stuff that really didn’t work at all.

  32. Carlton R

GOOD WORD OF ADVICE: ALWAYS use sunscreen during the day when using this product (I use okdermo’s sunscreen gels. which has been really compatible with my acne-prone skin), and stay out of the sun.

  33. Jonathon Stevens

Yep, the best Micro gel out here! Definitely my recommendations!

  34. Roosevelt Jefferson

I’ve been using this product for a while, and let me first say that it’s really drying!! My skin is oily, acne prone and brown. Retin-A has really helped reduce my hyper pigmentation marks caused by my acne scars. I use a little on my marks (not my whole face) and it lightens it within 2-3 weeks.

  35. Sherri

I had iud birth control for less than 2 months and broke out terribly. I removed the iud and started tretinoin cream .1 every 2 days for about 6 weeks and now use almost every other night… i still am experiencing breakouts during my period, so the acne is not completely gone, but I feel like the tretinoin cream has helped smoothed my overall skin texture and has also minimized some fine lines. One tube has lasted this long and I use on my face, back of hands, neck and chest. I am now running low and need to get a refill soon. Happy I found okdermo! Thank you guys

  36. Suzanne S

    It requires patience….BUT THIS WORKS!!!!

  37. Beulah L.

Minimizes redness over time clears pimples quickly refines pores slightly irritating to skin while skin adjusts moderate initial break-out period occasional dryness Preliminary results are good, time will tell!!!

  38. Gene Horton

This tretinoin 0.1% cream is a good alternative to the prescription ones, and the price is very good! Thank you okdermo!

  39. Denise Curry

I am 50 years old, I use retin a cream 0.05% for wrinkles, it is perfect. I buy it here in okdermo.

  40. Evan W

I’ve used this product for almost a year now. I experienced mild dry skin the first couple of days, which eventually faded. My occasional mild acne cleared up immediately and youthful, radiant skin appeared. I started getting compliments. Five months passed and my tube was coming to an end, so I called for a refill. Apparently my dermatologist recommends a check up every six months so my refill was declined. The soonest I could be seen was 3 weeks later. As I started the new tube I noticed extremely dry, flakey, red skin and acne in spots I’ve never had before on my face. This freaked me out! But I continued the cream and it all cleared up after a week. I now have clear, radiant skin again. Moral of the story, don’t lose hope. Give it time.

  41. Fernando Peterson

2 months. Went through the dry skin, red skin, ‘ugly phase’. But stick with it. It really does work!!! My skin tone is perfect and my skin is so clear.

  42. Ivan Powell

I experienced lots of peeling for several weeks, but the new skin which emerged from beneath, was clear, hydrated and supple.

  43. Jack Pittman

A PRESCRIPTION GRADE retinoid product should be the core of your skincare regime for anti-aging!

  44. Sheila Hubbard

If your skin can handle it, start using the lowest strength Retin-A (I believe it’s 0.025%) ONCE A WEEK (no more) and a PEA-SIZE amount on 100% dry skin at night. Don’t use any other treatment (night cream, serums, etc) on your skin the night you use Retin-A (other ingredients might irritate you). Evenly apply it over your entire face. Again, no more than a pea-size or you’ll regret it. If you have very sensitive skin, use a “buffer” before applying Retin-A (I recommend Cerave or another thick cream moisturizer with as a few ingredients as possible). Again – ONCE A WEEK. See if your skin can handle it. If a month has passed with minimal/no peeling or redness, bump up to twice a week. Some people can’t use Retin-A more than once a week. Ever. That might be your limit. Some people can use Retin-A nightly after several months of adjustment. Some people can handle the 0.1% (I cannot). 0.5% is plenty strong for most people.

  45. Alfonso R

Works! skin sensetive to light Ive had acne for 20 years! 3 years ago I got tired of hidding from the world and tried this. The first year my skin was the worst its ever been. My skin usually had about 20-30 pimples and was filled with dark spots. Now, my skin is still imperfect but its so much better. I only have 2-3 small pimples and less dark spots but there are still alot of them. Im still hideous but i feel ok leaving the house now.

  46. Sonya Harris

If you’re new to Retin-A, please use a low-strength retinol first for a few months to get your skin adjusted.

  47. Darryl

The transition process was a little rough: my skin would occasionally become really dry and flakey for a few days in a row which made wearing make-up impossible. But I stuck through it (it wasn’t too bad to be honest, you just have to get over not having excellent skin for a few days), and am now experiencing fewer breakouts, a decrease in their severity, and more even skin tone. My recommendation just do not purchase the strongest one first, start from 0.025% if you never used it and unfamiliar with it. God bless!

  48. Perry F

    Great for my cystic/hormonal acne!!

  49. Shaun Yates

I’m using Tretinoin with the Blender up to three times per week at night and my skin is now younger than it was before I started.

  50. Sharon Lane

Peeling and redness is normal when adjusting to Retin-A. But, you need to scale down if this happens. If you peel keep products off your face. Use the gentlest cleanser you can find with the fewest ingredients. Keep your skin hydrated. Use a thick moisturizer

  51. Rhonda

Retin-a can work but only with time

  52. Leslie Hunt

Using Tretinoin requires patience as the skin may look worse before it looks better, cell turn over is rapid, so there may be lots of peeling and redness, but the end result is worth it. Always use a high factor sunblock, regardless of the season, when using Tretinoin.

  53. Preston H

As someone else said on another review, nothing beats good skin, and I can even get away, at my age, with wearing no foundation, just blush and concealer for my dark (hereditary) circles. Can’t recommend this product enough. It’s a miracle worker.

  54. Linda

Saved my skin after 10 years of battling with acne!

  55. Wilma L

Works after 3 weeks! Love it!

  56. Brian Clark

It feels so nice to see me looking in the mirror and not see huge puss filled acne on my cheeks. I have my cofidence back!

  57. Bobby Graves

So I’m currently 24, I’ve been battling acne scne 17! Cyctic acne that is for sure hormonal a year ago it got to the point where I would wana cry when I look in the mirror because I would see a new cyct every day! Nightmare! So I used Retin A 0.025 at night and clindoxyl get in the am. My skin got worse in the begining, it was red, it was peeling, but than it got better after 3 months and after 6 I would say I was acne free! It was amazing, however than Retin A was out of stock for couple of months and I got my acne back! Now I bought it againg, but I have to start the whole prosses againg waiting for my skin to get better. At this point I’m willing to because Retin A is the only thing that helps me. I like thia product, you need to mistrise a lot and use lots of sunscreen and BE PATIENT because every skin problem takes awhile to be fixed so dont give up, dermatologist promis a flawless skin after 6 months of using it! Good luck!

  58. Jeanne Massey

Okay let me just say I have been using this product for almost month now and my hyper pigmentation and red marks have faded a little tiny bit. My skin looks better but you will break out some days while using this. I have been having a big problem on my chin. I get huge pimples under the skin and they hurt a lot. I use ice to bring the swelling down. My dermatologist told me to start slow at first and use it 2-3 times a week. I used it 2 times a week for two weeks, then I used it for 3 times a week and now I’m using it mostly every day. He said give it a month until you actually start seeing good results. So far so good just have patience. Btw the acne on my chin isn’t from this product it’s from hormonal imbalance and I just started birth control because I don’t know what else to do.

  59. Dean

Helps my oily skin, but not my acne

  60. Seth Parker

It’s been only 6 months for me, and I’ve erased at least 5 to 10 years.

  61. William M

    Wonderful

  62. Olive Delgado

No one with good or ok skin should buy this cream!

  63. Ellis B

    Works wonders!

  64. Billy Guerrero

The .1% cream is what I’ve been using since I’ve moved up from the 0.05%. I’ve been using tretinoin for a year and moved up strengths on my one year mark. I can honestly say that I immediately noticed major smoothness and more clarity in my skincare when I moved up to the .1%. Granted maybe too because I’m using the cream (I never used the cream prior, always a gel). The cream penetrates deeper, making skin moisturzied, hydrated, a little oily. Or maybe the .1% is just stronger I dunno. It’s towards the end of the summer as I write this and where I live it’s humid so I’ll finish out the tube of cream. But when it gets cold I’ll start on the .1% cream version. My overall thoughts: I’m 42 years old and I had pretty decent skin before staring Retin a (Vitacid) and I feel that me starting Retin a has made my skin THAT much better! I would highly recommend it! I use it 4 days a week and on the nights I don’t I use my Lactic acid and my skin looks amazing! So pleased!

  65. Melvin Hopkins

I don’t even need foundation anymore!

  66. April Barnett

My face is clear and I couldn’t be happier.

  67. Judy

I have been using tretinoin for almost 7 years now and it has been greatly beneficial to my skin. Tretinoin helped my skin to reduce the size of scars as well as help prevent blackheads.

  68. Chester

It takes time (and trials), but it does work

Not extremely effective, but does calm acne down a bit

  70. Joe Pratt

  71. Richard C

I got my tube of tretinoin 0.05 cream from okdermo store by dermatologists recommendation. The first two weeks had been hell! Peeling, lots of clog pores and angry pimples. I’m now on my 3rd week and i only have one pimple on my cheek. This stuff is amazing! Just have lots of patience.

I am in love, whit Retin-a! I have been using Retin -a in 45 days, and I see a big change in my skin. I use 0,5%, every night. I put it on my hole face, including under the eyes. During the first weeks, I peeled, and was a bit red. I noticed that my skin felt thigter. After 30 days, I begun to see smaler pores, and the pigmentspots are brighter. I use use only Retin -a, and suncream in the morning.

  73. Bradley Peterson

Let me begin saying that before I used Tretinoin .1% cream, I had pretty severe acne. Like it was getting to the point I would be depressed. In May I began using this product. The first two weeks were hell… HUGE pimples and I was getting upset, but that’s a good thing. It means Tretinoin is doing it’s job. After about 6 weeks of this stuff, I noticed a big improvement. I have acne scars basically.. everywhere. All down my chin, jaw line, forehead, it sucks. And I can’t imagine how bad it would be now if I hadn’t have had used Tretinoin!

  74. Pete F

Now that I’m working with a cleaner canvas, so to speak, the anti-aging products that I used to use that took a while to see a noticeable difference now is finally sinking into my skin and really working!

  75. David

    Just very strong

  76. Lee Mitchell

    This Vitacid is great!

  77. Bryant

    Nice, thanx!

  78. Julian Reid

    Life saver!!

  79. Jacob Barnes

I’m 19 years old and I have SEVERE acne. We’re talking about TONS of cystic acne that leave nasty pitted scars and discoloration. I went to the doctors and they prescribed this to me. Bought Vitacid cream 0.05% tretinoin on okdermo. This is a miracle!!! After a couple weeks I’m definitely seeing progress. However do be warned that this can dry out your skin a lot. My skin was peeling like CRAZZY to the point that I didn’t want to be seen by anyone. However, do not stop. Your skin is just adjusting to it. Also, make sure to apply sunscreen during the day because this makes your skin sensitive to the sun. Although this cream takes time to work, the results are definitely worth it. TRUST ME. 🙂

  80. Rodolfo

I started taking Vitacid Tretinoin 0.1% cream. At first, I was peeling very badly and my skin got soooo dark. It was almost blue as I am already naturally dark skinned. During this experience, I was using every day and also rubbing in the cream into my skin. However, the Dermatologist informed me to use this cream every other day and also moisturize properly. I get results by washing with white gentle soap only and moisturize my face when it’s slightly damped. After about 10 mins, I put the Vitacid over the surface of the skin and leave it there. Two minutes later, I put more moisturizer on the skin. I used Aveeno moisturizer but I guess a good moisturizer is all that is needed. I love this product and would recommend same.

  81. Elijah R

love this stuff. Had some.bad acne.on my cheeks and.not.only did.it.clear that up but it is taking care of the scarring acne left behind as well. Skin might get a little itchy or inflamed when you first use it but that’s how it works so if you’re patient and follow the instructions (not intense sunlight, use sunscreen) you should be fine. Definitely would/ will repurchase

  82. Annie P

Effective Easy to use Fewer inflamed zits I’ve been using this in conjunction with Benzoyl peroxide wash and it seems to be helping. It has helped to make the pimples I do get stay less inflamed and I’ve been getting much fewer cystic acne. I use it at night and it has a good texture like a cream, and no side effects like burning.

  83. Lorraine Rowe

    Seems to help, thanx!!

  84. Kellie C

VERY good product!! Patience is key

  85. Donald Warren

This is a serious beauty product

  86. Emmett

    Helped me!

  87. Joseph H

I’ve been using this Tretinoin .1% cream for going on two years. I use it for anti-aging, not acne, and it works. I started with: dry skin, some texture inconsistencies, fine lines around my eyes and obvious nasolabial lines, uneven tone and some sun damage spots that were a result of lots of beach time in FL w/o using sunscreen.

  88. Guy Moody

Finally helped clear up my acne!

  89. Alice Jones

I’m 52, sought help from a dermatologist for under skin bumps, blackheads and oily skin. I’ve been using this product for a few months now and in the beginning, as stated in other posts, I experienced dry, irritable skin but in the past few weeks, I’ve noticed a noticeable change. My skin is radiant, even tone and the bumps are practically all gone. I use coconut oil as a night moisturiser and this cream daily. I also use a sunscreen. I have been getting very positive comments on the youthfulness of my skin. 🙂

  90. Howard Bowers

The effects are more dramatic than any cream, lotion, or serum I’ve ever used, from the drugstore variety right up to the $250 creams and lotions. I know now that it’ll be a permanent step in my skincare regime from here on end.

  91. Casey T

Not only is this medication great for anti aging purposes but is also great for a condition called milia. Not many ppl know of it but it’s a lot different then acne. It’s trapped dead skin cells under your skin that forms what looks like a white head only you can’t pop it. To get rid of them you need to exfoliate a lot. This cream just speeds up the process. So not only do you get rid of pesky little white bumps on your face but you get the anti aging benefits too. And yes it does take a while for your skin to adjust. Dryness and peeling and flaking occur for a while after you start treatment but if you truly want it to work you have to be patient and let the cream do its job.

  92. Nellie W

I started out using 0.05% strength Tretinoin for about 6 weeks and started to see positive results. I did not notice any side effects so I switched to the 0.1% strength and I have not looked back since. This stuff has been an absolute miracle. I’m 24 and have struggled with acne since i was about 16. I’ve tried literally everything prescription and non-prescription (clindamyacin, adapalene, different BP’s, salycilic, duac, sulfur treatments, monocycline, doxycycline, tea tree, etc. Mild flaky skin but easily manageable. If you haven’t responded to other prescriptions well and are nervous to try Accutane like I was, I would highly recommend giving this a try. I just wish I would have a long time ago.

  93. Doug Griffin

Anyways, Retin-A is no joke. It’s potent. Please be knowledgeable and prepared before you begin using this product or you’ll regret it. I used SkinCeuticals 0.5% (and then 1.0% Maximum Strength) for 2 years before moving into Retin-A. SkinCeuticals Retinol is like a less potent version of Retin A. Skinceuticals 1.0% is comparable 0.0.25% Retin-A. My skin is slightly sensitive BTW but can tolerate retinols.

  94. Taylor

Vitacid is generic Retin A – the cream formula, and the tube lasts about 3 months for me. well worth it! i am over 40 and have battled acne since my teens. tried almost everything out there with little or no results- so i finally went and asked for this. it has made a HUGE difference in my skin. i did not go through the purging people talk about – my skin is very tough and very oily, i saw slight flakes but nothing like what others have said. i do use this on my face, neck and chest, as i had bad sun damage on my chest area, and this has made a huge difference in the skin on my chest area. i did experience redness and itching there, but not on my face. i use only a TM but honestly i dont need it, it is just a crutch i think! my skin does not have any wrinkles, but i think a lot of that has to do with the oily skin i have, keeps you looking young! every now and then, right before my period, i may get a pimple or two, but nothing close to the terrible acne i had prior to this cream. i’m so glad i found this product, i can not imagine not having it. I have not tried the gel version, i think i would like that better than the cream, due to my ultra oily skin, but this stuff is great.

  95. Erika Malone

I use a 0.25% tretinoin cream from Janssen it’s great for reducing large cystic acne deep underneath your skin. It is really strong and I’ve experienced extremely dry cracked sensitive skin, redness that looks like you’ve been sunburned and flaking that looks gross and can’t be covered by makeup. I recommend using it sparingly and layer on a heavy duty moisturizer at night.

  96. Stewart B

    Definitely works!! (after months)

  97. Toni

    Only positive results!

  98. Jody Mason

Yes, the initial stages are tough, itchy, dry, burning skin. Totally worth it. Yes, it’s expensive without insurance, but you have an okdermo 😉 Definitely worth it. I’ve shaved years off of my face without surgery or fillers or lasers. When people hear my age, (almost 37), they almost always comment that I look in my mid to late twenties. I had a restaurant worker tell me just the other day that I looked the same age as her son who is twenty five. Really, lady? My husband is 9 years younger than me, and people are always surprised or shocked when they hear our age difference. I now use it only 3 times per week for maintenance. I started with .05% tretinoin with 4% hydroquinone in a cream sold at okdermo. Then after a few months switched to Tretinoin.1% and haven’t looked back. Tretinoin, SPF, an acid (I use lactic), the proper cleanser and a good moisturizer is IT for me, never mind 12-step skincare routines or products with inflated marketing promises. Having used some of the big names, ANR, La Mer, Neocutis, Skinceuticals, I can say with certainty that Tretinoin Vitacid cream beats them out. My 5 stars!

  99. Flora C

    Good so far.

  100. Patrick Santiago

So yeah, just make sure you wear tons of sunscreen and that you moisturize, because it makes you very vulnerable to UV rays. Also, make sure if you use chemical peels with glycolic acid, use those in the morning, then use tretinoin at night. That’s what works best.. and the duo for me has helped immensely:)

  101. Arturo Colon

I look in the mirror and satisfied that I am finally fighting back against time

  102. Randal Harrison

Nasolabial folds and lines around my eyes have diminished. I look at photos of myself in my late twenties and my skin is better now than it was then. My skin is thicker overall, and softer and more plumped. I do not apply on my eyelids or undereye area because it’s not recommended.

  103. Grant Mack

For me it just works. Acne gone with fine lines, everyone thinks i’m on botox 😀 My skin is shiny!

  104. Ella Ballard

I have been using this 0.05 tretinoin generic brand for two months. It has done a great improvement on my skin. The beginning was rough but I continued till my skin was adjusted and now I use it every night.

  105. Lance

    Just started using it..

  106. Benjamin

    Awesome

  107. Holly

    The game changer

Clears acne helps clear pimples fast helps hyper pigmentation dryness peeling I started using tretinoin cream about 4 months ago. I had really nice skin throughout all high school and of course when iI’m 18 and a senior, my skin goes crazy when everyone else’s is finally starting to get better. I was so embarrassed about how I looked I would miss school because I didn’t want anyone to see my face. I felt so disgusting that all my pores were clogged that I would pick the living crap out of anything that even resembled a pimple and make my skin look a million times worse than it already was. So to all of you who have lost self confidence due to acne, I feel your pain and just keep reading. I went to a dermatologist and she prescribed me monodox for my cysts and tretinoin for my surface acne. Within a week my skin was worse than ever. Not only was my face completely covered but it was peeling off and so dry that when I smiled or laughed the skin around my mouth would start to crack and sometimes bleed. My skin is so sensitive so it may not go to this extent for everyone, my brother was on tretinoin too and he didn’t even have to apply lotion after and he never got a single skin flake. After about a month I started to notice my skin was getting better, it was still so dry but I could see that my skin wasn’t so congested, and it was starting to look really beautiful. I decided to try and find a regimen to help all this dryness. After much experimentation and my skin starting to adjust to the product, my skin is no longer dry. Here’s what I do: Shower, wash face with some gentle cleanser, get out of shower, PAT dry, wait 30 mins (when you just get out of the shower your pores are open and irritated and when you apply the cream right away it will make it more dry), apply evian facial mist (basically just spray water on your face, doing this helps the cream move around more so you can use less product, meaning less dryness. this doesn’t make it less effective) wait 10 minutes, apply cera ve moisturizing cream, not lotion. boom. It’s been about 4 months now and my skin looks great. I feel confident in myself again, I don’t hermit myself in my room, scared to leave the house because of the way my face looks. I still get a few pimples, but it’s okay because nothing is going to completely clear your skin. so moral of the story, in order for your skin to look good again, you have to wait for your skin to adjust first. don’t just stop something after a week, there’s no miracle product that will work over night and have no side effects.

  109. Jeannette

My secret gel, my skin is glowing.

  110. Casey F

I love it, this is great to treat the acne but it is really expensive in the USA. The real dear – okdermo store! Thanx guys!

  111. Crystal

    Worth!

  112. Blanca H

Only cream that will actually work but may take a few months but will be worth it. I used tretinoin a few times and quit because I thought it was aggravating my acne but I now know that it gets all the bad gunk out first and brings the next skin cells up to the surface. I used this for about a month before taking accutane and haven’t experienced an initial breakout so far( on day 9) …. Be patient

  113. Ismael Vargas

I really hope it works as well for others as it has for me. Good skin is something everyone should have.

  114. Mark P

Tretinoin has literally changed my life

  115. Elijah N.L.

Works great! Hasn’t caused any peeling or flaking. This eneric brand is inexpensive, thanx to okdermo got it without problems! None I’ve only been using Tretinoin 0.05% for about a couple weeks.

  116. Daryl S

Stay faithful acne sufferers! You’re not alone and there IS a product out there for you!!

  117. Genevieve Wade

Make sure you follow your doctor’s instructions. I started using it too much/frequently and it caused a lot of breaking out that resulted eventually in hypertrophic scarring. Make sure to start very gradually. I was traveling when I started and unable to see my dermatologist for a follow-up. I knew that there was a possibility of an initial breakout so when I used it and started seeing more and more cysts I thought that I should just get it over with and keep using it rather than backing off and waiting until I could see my doctor. I have scarring along my jawline as a result. Used correctly and carefully I think it can be effective for maintaining skin. I don’t think it’s very helpful in situations where your skin is already angry and inflamed.

  118. Dale Love

I wish I had never stopped using it since my teens. I’ve started again, and I’ve been on Retin-A Vitacid cream 0.1% for about 6 months now, and it’s done a miraculous job of clearing away years of buildup, my skin looks smoother and less spotted.

  119. Irving G

    GETS THE JOB DONE!

  120. Brooke Garza

I hope this review helps! It really did wonders for my skin.

  121. Virgil Fitzgerald

It works – when combined with a good moisturizer and exfoliate

  122. Ricky Mcguire

I was prescribed for dark spots on my face. I bought 0.025%, although the dark spots are stillthere they have not grown or intensified. Also I have less acne and whiteheads
